In an Australian exclusive exhibition, works from some of the most influential European and American artists of the 19th and 20th centuries are being displayed at the Art Gallery of South Australia. From the acclaimed Toledo Museum of Art in the United States, the debut exhibition in AGSA’s Winter Art Series traces a ground-breaking period in art history. Discover 57 paintings from the greats including Paul Cezanne, Edgar Degas, Helen Frankenthaler, Pablo Picasso, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Vincent Van Gogh and, of course, Claude Monet and Henri Matisse.

The top junior players from Volleyball Australia affiliated state and territory associations go head-to-head in an expanded program featuring the new under 21 age category, in addition to the under 19 and under 23 divisions. Australia’s largest craft event series makes its way to Adelaide in a celebration of creativity. This hands-on event is a chance for beginners and advanced students alike to learn from specialist teachers from across the country, covering a range of crafts from traditional to modern. Expect retailers, inspiring displays and expert tutors with the best tips and tricks in a weekend-long celebration of all things craft at Adelaide Showground.

Adelaide’s hospitality community unites to support two of the city’s leading homelessness services Catherine House and Hutt St Centre. Every Thursday until July 23 guest chefs take over the kitchen with a soup of the week sold alongside vegetarian and vegan options, as well as East End Cellars’ co-owner Margie Andrewartha’s famous pea and ham soup. Soups are available from 12pm until sold out for $20 each, with dine-in and takeaway options available, and with 100 per cent of the proceeds donated.

As a part of its school holiday program, Adelaide Festival Centre is hosting workshops designed to get young people involved on and off the stage. Step behind the curtain in a one-day workshop, designed for people aged 16-17, and learn about the world of technical production. Working alongside industry professionals, participants gain insight into lighting, sound and staging.
