From art exhibitions and stage shows to celebrating all things sauce, there is plenty to see and do this coming week in SA.

Sauce Day

March 13-14

Partake in a beloved Italian-Australian tradition of making and bottling passata with family and friends at the Adelaide Central Market. The Market is hosting five sauce making sessions, cooking demonstrations, live music and roving entertainment to celebrate Sauce Day. Also expect special prices and pop-up tastings from traders.

 

Adelaide Biennial: Yield Strength

The Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art returns to champion contemporary Australian art with Yield Strength. This exhibition is set to reveal how materials, selfhood, and society are tested and transformed under pressure as 24 Australian artists push the boundaries of their mediums. A vital part of the Adelaide Festival, this fixture of the Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art aims to reveal the curious side of existence while remaining attentive to aesthetic details. Yield Strength is on at the Art Gallery of South Australia, Samstag Museum of Art and the Adelaide Botanic Garden.

Not Without Each Other

This month, Adelaide Central Gallery presents a new exhibition by South Australian artist Jasmine Crisp. Not Without Each Other showcases intricately detailed and colourful paintings, highlighting the conventions of still-life and portraiture with intriguing narrative elements. This exhibition is a commentary on contemporary socio-political concerns and their impact on individuals through the depiction of people who find themselves caught between contradictory forces.

A sellout event of the 2025 Adelaide Fringe returns this weekend with an upgraded sound system and a new route. Follow DJ Dom Whiting through the City of Charles Sturt and Port Adelaide Enfield in a group cycle set to his Drum & Bass beats. This family friendly event reaches high volumes with custom-built sound systems mounted to multiple bikes creating a blend between a street party and a rave on wheels. DJ Dom Whiting will be keeping the party going at Lion Arts Factory following the event.

Shen Yun

March 18

Embark on a journey through 5000 years of Chinese culture as Shen Yun depicts China before communism through classical Chinese dance at the Festival Theatre. Joined by a live orchestra that blends western classical music with traditional Chinese instruments Shen Yun, meaning the beauty of divine beings dancing, revisits a time when scholars and artists sought harmony with the Tao, and when divine beings walked the earth.

Tatachilla Lutheran College Twilight Food Affair

March 20

The countdown is on for one of the largest family-friendly events in the McLaren Vale region. With more than 4000 annual attendees, the Twilight Food Affair brings together families, friends and neighbours for an evening of food, music and connection in a relaxed vineyard setting. Expect an expanded food truck line-up, carnival rides, live entertainment and fireworks on Tatachilla Lutheran College’s picturesque grounds.
