Santos Tour Down Under | January 16-25

The Santos Tour Town Under is returning to light up South Australia this weekend. Across nine days, women race in three stages and men race in five stages covering more than 1150 kilometres combined, passing through some of the state’s iconic locations including the Barossa, Willunga, McLaren Vale and the CBD. Highlights of this year’s fixture include the City of Adelaide Tour Village in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga and the Team Presentation followed by a free concert featuring Hot Dub Time Machine on opening night, Friday, January 16. The Santos Tour Down Under kicks off with the Ziptrak Women’s Stage 1 in Willunga on Saturday, January 17.

Art Deco: A modern vision | until Saturday, January 31

The glamour, innovation and design synonymous with the Art Deco movement of the ’20s and ’30s is being celebrated at David Roche Gallery until the end of the month. At Deco: A Modern Vision exhibits 180 works from public and private collections showcasing the journey of the pivotal art movement from France, through Europe, before finally arriving in Australia and influencing architecture and interior design. The exhibition, celebrating 100 years of Art Deco, is showing at the David Roche Gallery in North Adelaide.

Bendigo Bank Tunarama Festival | January 16-18

The Bendigo Bank Tunarama Festival returns to the seafood capital of Australia this weekend. Celebrating more than 60 years of history, the regional festival highlights the area’s renowned seafood, local wines and produce. This year’s program features the legendary tuna toss and the street parade, alongside a line-up of new events and attractions that promise fun for the whole family. The Bendigo Bank Tunarama Festival takes place on the Port Lincoln foreshore and entry is free.

Semaphore Greek Festival | January 17-18

Celebrate Greek culture this weekend when the Semaphore Greek Festival returns. The best of Adelaide’s Greek community converge on the foreshore, showcasing the iconic food, music and culture from local businesses and talents, reflecting this year’s theme Oloi Mazi, meaning all together.

About Face | Until Monday, January 26

Local Adelaide artists Siew Siang Tay and Con Polychronis explore the human face as a window into the soul of Chinese culture. About Face exhibits Tay’s portraits of Chinese people and Polychronis’ figurative works of artisan trades depicting tales of hope, joy and the everyday and exploring the perspectives of the diverse people who shape Chinese culture. The exhibition is showing at the Migration Museum in the city.

GelatiFest | Until Saturday, January 31

The Barossa Valley Chocolate Company is celebrating flavour, family and fun this month with GelatiFest. Enjoy handcrafted artisan gelati, chocolate delights, and family-friendly experiences on the lawns overlooking the lake and vineyards as the Gelati Bar expands from 15 to 30 flavours, with three limited-edition flavours released weekly until the end of the month. Highlights also include make-your-own-chocolate workshops for children, art workshops for adults and an outdoor movie night.
