From the whimsy of Cirque Alice to the action packed Blitz Golf and the Adelaide International Tennis Tournament, there is plenty to see and do this week in Adelaide.

Cirque Alice | January 8-18

Journey down the rabbit hole in this extraordinary take on the fairy tale classic Alice in Wonderland. Following sell-out seasons in Brisbane and Singapore, Cirque Alice is making its way to Adelaide this weekend. Expect aerialists, acrobats, contortionists and puppetry with special musical and comedy guests accompanied by a soundtrack of remixes of classical favourites. Cirque Alice takes audiences through the looking glass at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

City of West Torrens Summer Festival | January 10 to February 7

Soak up the summer sun and enjoy a packed program of free family fun as the City of West Torrens’ Summer Festival returns every Saturday for the rest of January. An open-air cinema, water slides, live music performances and local market stalls are just some of this year’s highlights. The Summer Festival is held at different locations around the local area each week, with the first event kicking off at the Golflands Reserve in Glenelg North.

Blitz Golf | January 9

The fast-paced action of the world’s shortest professional golf tournament format returns to Adelaide this Friday at Kooyonga Golf Club. Blitz Golf League is a ten-hole tournament with multiple short rounds featuring golfing greats and rising stars. Food and live music will be on offer, as well as the chance to walk the course up close and personal with pro golfers, celebrities and AFL stars.

Adelaide Youth Orchestra Summer Festival | January 10-17

Fall in love with classical music when the Adelaide Youth Orchestra Summer Festival brings its hypnotic melodies back to Adelaide this weekend. Across seven days, 200 AYO National Music Camp musicians, led by internationally renowned conductors Alan Buribayev, Andrea Quinn, and Glenn Christensen, bring everything from ballet and orchestral suites to contemporary Australian works alive. The festival takes place at Adelaide University’s Elder Hall.

Adelaide International | January 12-17

Witness world-class tennis up close when the Adelaide International returns to kick off the summer of tennis next week at The Drive. In the lead up to the Australian Open, catch some of the biggest names in tennis competing for the tournament title across five action-packed days. Live music, food, drink, premium experiences and casual entertainment are also on offer. Head to the website to keep updated on the big names set to grace the Adelaide stage.

Gather in the Garden | January 9-24

Enjoy a sanctuary of the inner city, more exclusive than ever as Gather in the Garden comes to Adelaide every weekend until January 24. Enjoy live music, after-hours access, live music, food and drinks on the lush lawns of the Adelaide Botanic Garden and wander through the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition showing in the conservatory, and the Tails from the Coasts exhibition showing in the Museum of Economic Botany. Gather in the Garden is on the Museum Lawn every Friday and Saturday evening until January 24. Both Exhibitions are showing until February 1.
