A Taste of the Hills Festival

March 28-29

Experience the best of the Adelaide Hills all in one place when A Taste of the Hills Festival returns this weekend. Expect more than 70 stallholders offering the best local produce as well as complimentary tastings, masterclasses, interactive experiences, live music and line dancing. For those looking to take the weekend to the next level, scenic helicopter flights also offer the chance to explore the region from above. A Taste of the Hills Festival is on at Lenswood Memorial Park and entry is ticketed.

Alliance Francaise French Film Festival

March 18 to April 22

The world’s biggest festival of French cinema returns for its 37th edition. Continuing its partnership with Palace Cinemas, more than 6000 screenings of the best in contemporary French film are showcased across 17 Australian regional and capital cities making it the country’s largest film festival. Fringe Mount Gambier

March 20 to April 5

South Australia’s largest regional open access arts festival returns with the theme ‘underground unleashed’ celebrating the region’s unique volcanic features. A staple event of the festival FRiNGELAND also returns as a major free event to light up Mount Gambier attraction Cave Garden/Thugi with something for everyone. Fringe events activate multiple locations across Mount Gambier with FRiNGELAND as a creative hub at the festival’s heart providing, food, drinks and plenty of entertainment for all ages.

Carrick Hill Sunset Sessions

March 27

Enjoy spectacular views over Adelaide at twilight as Carrick Hill extends its hours to make the most of daylight savings. Expect live music and a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by the picturesque heritage garden. The Garden Bar and Rozelle’s have also extended their hours. Tickets are $15 for entry to the garden and one drink, or $25 for house entry.

Music in the Square

March 28

Enjoy an afternoon of funk and soul music in the heart of North Adelaide. Music in the Square, presented by the City of Adelaide, brings an unmissable lineup of live local artists including Terry’s Pocket and INKSWELL & Lizzy Bradley to Wellington Square/Kudnartu. Also expect food from local traders set in a welcoming, family friendly atmosphere. This event is all ages and entry is free.

WalkFest

March 29

Get some pep in your step as WalkFest returns to connect communities with the outdoors. Celebrate the beginning of the local bushwalking season at Belair National Park as the weather cools and get involved in some of the many walks and guided tours, of various lengths, running across the day. There will also be around 40 stalls with demonstrations and presentations as well as giveaways, music, food, drinks and children’s entertainment. This year’s event alsomarks Walking SA’s milestone 40 years of support for Friends of the Heysen Trail, and 80 years of support for Adelaide Bushwalkers Club.

Glenbarr Garden Gala

After a successful first year, the historic Glenbarr Homestead is once again opening its grounds as it hosts the second annual Glenbarr Garden Gala. A range of stalls display plants, garden suppliers, garden art and other products across the picturesque gardens. Guest speakers provide entertainment with Gardening Australia’s Sophie Thomson an event highlight. There is free car parking on site and entry is $10. The event is on at Glenbarr Homestead on Paris Creek Road in Strathalbyn.

Autumn fair

March 29

Enjoy a vibrant autumn day filled with community and fun for the whole family at Loreto College’s Autumn Fair. Expect a lively atmosphere with stalls run by Loreto families alongside a range of external stallholders, rides and entertainment for all ages. Treat yourself to a delicious high tea or relax at the bar and soak up the spirit of Loreto’s biggest community event of the year.
