SALIFE Gardens & Outdoor Living Autumn 2026

Feb 20, 2026, updated Feb 20, 2026

Look out for SALIFE Gardens & Outdoor Living on shelves from Monday, packed with lots of inspiration to maintain your garden over the next few months.

One of my goals for 2026 is to keep my indoor plants alive and thriving – I want to achieve that gorgeous junglelike feeling from every room. I didn’t get off to the best start when I picked up a new potted find and my eight-year-old son promptly piped up with, “Mum, why are you getting that, you’re just going to kill it.”

He might be on to something. I returned home to my dying decor and vowed this is the year I’m going to put more care and effort into my house plants.

Luckily, I’ve got some great advice this issue from Barrow & Bench Mitre 10’s Amanda Stewart.

The best part of autumn is that first drive of the season into the Adelaide Hills. The magic of the fiery tones blanketing the region never ceases to amaze me.

Amy Woollard from Adelaide Tree Farm gives some great examples of autumn trees you might want to try out in your own garden for that little slice of autumnal heaven. My favourite has to be the crepe myrtle – it’s such a delight from its summer colour to autumn tones.

Speaking of year-round interest, Katie Steinwedel from The Garden Depot imparts her wisdom about designing a garden you’ll love through all the seasons.

It’s easy to work hard for that spring and summer colour – and even those autumn hues – but the real challenge is keeping the garden looking spectacular with something unexpected during the winter months.

Of course, we have lots of tips and tricks from Kim Syrus, who has compiled to-do lists for this time of year, and we also step inside a stunning Heathfield garden that truly champions that year-round garden philosophy.

Enjoy this magical season and we’ll see you again soon for SALIFE Gardens & Outdoor Living Winter.
