Step inside real South Australian homes as we discover some of the gorgeous design choices being made across the state for this year’s Premium Property magazine.

One of the best parts of this job is the opportunity to step inside some of South Australia’s most beautiful homes. It gives us the chance to see what’s trending – as well as relish in those everlasting design moments that we spy time and time again.

Welcome to the 2026 SALIFE Premium Property magazine, where we take stock each year of some of our favourite homes and design items, while asking the professionals for their tips to improve our own spaces.

In these pages, you’ll find an eastern suburbs home with one of the most sumptuous powder rooms I’ve ever seen. The broken green-toned marble pieces with terrazzo grouting is set off beautifully with gold detailing.

On the other side of the city, we’ve explored a Henley Beach family home that is light, bright and airy. Owners Mark and Gemma were in two minds about renovating and moving, but ultimately couldn’t let go of their beachside location, so they’ve extended to fit their brood.

We venture to the esplanade at Aldinga. Yes, it’s a beach house, but rather than the traditional coastal styling, the owners have gone for materials and tones that speak to the natural landscape with natural timbers, stone and subtle greens – not a beachy blue or white in sight.

We also hear from Little Road Interior Design’s Marcus Syvertsen, who gives us some wonderful direction on the interior trends he’s seeing, including design that speaks to boutique hotels.

Then, our team has compiled their wish list of some of the items we have our eye on for our own homes; on my list, there are a couple of pieces of stunning artwork.

You’ll also find all the latest awards, products and news from the building, construction and interior design sectors in our Industry News.

We hope you find plenty of inspiration in these pages and the wonderful South Australian homes we’ve championed.
