One of the world’s most celebrated photography exhibitions returns for its 61st year, bringing extraordinary wildlife stories to the heart of the Adelaide Botanic Garden. More than 60,000 entries submitted from around the globe have been whittled down to the best images capturing remarkable moments from the natural world. The exhibition, showing in the Botanic Gardens’ Bicentennial Conservatory, highlights critical conservation issues, encouraging reflection on our relationship with nature and our shared responsibility to protect the planet and its wildlife.

Adelaide’s fashion community comes together next week for five days of runways, workshops, talks and dining experiences. Returning for its fifth year, Adelaide Fashion Week connects designers, retailers, venues and hospitality partners and focuses on broadening access to local fashion. COMING UP

PAUSE exhibition

October 9-11

Adelaide artist Nick Hannaford displays new works in his latest exhibition showing at Mazzanine 55. The pieces presented in PAUSE are the result of Hannaford’s questioning of his own practice and habits that had become comfortable. Known for his landscapes, Hannaford explores our relationship with the natural world and depicts familiar environments changed by weather, fire, changing light, memory and human presence. Hannaford has been named as a finalist in the 2026 Heysen Prize for Landscape, with the winner to be announced this month.
