This weekend, get revved up for the bp Adelaide Grand Final, or start on the Christmas shopping at the Gilles at the Grounds Gift Bazaar.

Gilles at the Grounds

Gilles at the Grounds returns with its gift bazaar this November 29 and 30. One of the Gilles Market’s most highly anticipated annual fixtures, the gift bazaar is the perfect one-stop-shop for the festive season with stalls from over 300 traders across the two days. Highlights include herbal tea blending and ceramic duck painting workshops led by local vendors, food trucks and live music. Gilles at the Grounds takes place at the Adelaide Showground with a night market on Saturday, November 29 from 3pm until 9pm, and a day market on Sunday, November 30 from 9am until 3pm.

bp Adelaide Grand Final

Australia’s largest domestic motorsport event, the bp Adelaide Grand Final, returns to Victoria Park/Pakapakanthi from November 27 to 30. Featuring everything from motorcycle speedway racing in the NAPA Speedway to dirt bike racing at the Boost Mobile AUSX Supercross Championship, on-track speed demonstrations and more. A highlight of the four days is the Repco Supercars Championship, where the fastest driver is crowned in a tense title-decider. Ticket holders also gain entry to post-race concerts from rock legends Lenny Kravitz and AC/DC on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. General admission tickets start at $36, while a four-day pass costs $189.

Music in the Square

As Good Music Month comes to a close Music in the Square returns this Friday, November 28 for its milestone 10th year. A line-up of local artists, led by George Alice, will showcase some of Adelaide’s best talent and food trucks and drinks from local vendors make for the perfect family-friendly evening to welcome the beginning of summer. Music in the Square takes place in Hindmarsh Square/Mukata from 6pm until 9pm.

Carols at Kingswood Oval

Rejoice in the Christmas cheer this weekend with the Carols at Kingswood Oval on Saturday, November 29. Pack your picnic rug and your Santa hat for this free community event that promises fun for the whole family. Expect Christmas market stalls and children’s activities as well as live performances from The Just Jesse Danger Show and other local talents including the Mitcham City Brass, The Barton Singers and Boomstars. Carols at Kingswood Oval kicks off from 6pm and closes with an appearance from Father Christmas at 9pm.

Women’s Big Bash League

The Women’s Big Bash is set to light up the city this weekend in a double header this Friday, November 28. The Adelaide Strikers Women will return to home turf in an action-packed match against the Sydney Thunder. The energy will already be electric as the Sydney Sixers and Brisbane Heat match is set to warm things up before the Strikers play to a home crowd. Both games take place at Adelaide Oval with the Sydney Sixers vs Brisbane Heat kicking off at 3.10pm and the Adelaide Strikers vs Sydney Thunder match getting underway at 6.40pm.

KickStart for Kids No Breakfast, Breakfast

KickStart for Kids is hosting one of its biggest annual events this Friday, November 28. Hosted by Rebecca Morse, the ‘No Breakfast, Breakfast’ highlights the reality of thousands of South Australian children who go to school without breakfast every day. Founder Ian Steel and ambassador Connie Bonaros will speak along with a line-up of inspiring speakers including those directly impacted by the charity. KickStart For Kids’ No Breakfast, Breakfast takes place at the Hilton Adelaide from 7.30am until 9am.
