SALIFE is partnering with The Models and Finesse Models to present celebrated Australian designer Mariam Seddiq’s latest collection in an exclusive evening at the State Library’s Mortlock Chamber. This event is part of Adelaide Fashion week, which brings the local fashion community together for five days of runways, workshops, talks and dining experiences. Now in its fifth year, this event connects designers, retailers, venues and hospitality partners and focuses on broadening access to local fashion. This year’s program centres around its ‘The Threads Between Us’ campaign where five major runways are presented as living portraits and each revealing a different aspect of Adelaide’s fashion culture.

This staple of the South Australian events calendar celebrating Asian and Asian Australian art, literature and music returns for its 20th and final year. Free concerts by Australian rock band Regurgitator and Japanese Australian electronic duo Lastlings are highlights of this year’s program. The popular Lucky Dumpling Market also returns for its milestone 10th season to bring the best of Asian food, drinks, music and culture to Elder Park/Tarntanya Wama for the duration of the festival. Also, discover the Market’s beautiful moon lantern display where more than a dozen giant lanterns pop up across the open-air market including Kurdany Tangku created by South Australian Artist Jaydenlee.

This year Still Aware is doing things differently and taking their annual fundraising efforts online, inviting Australians everywhere to register, bid and support the cause from home. More than 150 items have been generously donated for the auction, which opens this Friday, October 9, and all proceeds support the organisations mission of preventing stillbirth across Australia. An array of items are up for grabs – everything from coffee machines and original artworks to power tools, cosmetics and even family experiences, with plenty of times to peruse the site before bidding closes on Sunday, October 18.

This festival returns to Willunga for its milestone 20th year to bring musicians and the community together for South Australia’s biggest folk music celebration. More than 40 Australian and international acts feature across the weekend with everything from traditional and contemporary folk and Celtic tunes to American, bluegrass and world music. Highlights of the line-up include The Bushwackers, Edwina Hayes, Austral and The Sweet Sorrows. This weekend one of Adelaide’s oldest gelato brands celebrates three decades with a nostalgia-filled anniversary weekend at it’s flagship Glynde store. The first 100 customers each day can purchase scoops at the original 1996 price of $3. Also expect vintage branded merchandise, the return of favourite flavours including Golden Gaytime, banana cream pie, Cherry Ripe and lemon meringue pie as the team serves scoops decked out in Gelato Bello’s original uniforms.

Adelaide artist Nick Hannaford displays new works in his latest exhibition showing at Mazzanine 55. The pieces presented in PAUSE are the result of Hannaford’s questioning of his own practice and habits that had become comfortable. Known for his landscapes, Hannaford explores our relationship with the natural world and depicts familiar environments changed by weather, fire, changing light, memory and human presence. Hannaford has been named as a finalist in the 2026 Heysen Prize for Landscape, with the winner to be announced this month.

Last year, musician Dave McEvoy took a grand piano into Australia’s largest temperate rainforest in Tasmania as part of Bob Brown Foundation’s annual “Art for Takayna” artists’ residency. Playing within the ancient forest at dawn heightened the artist’s connection to nature and he now brings that experience to two extraordinary live events at Immersive Light and Art. The pianist and composer will perform in the round, surrounded by footage of the majestic Takayna forest on ILA’s 110-square metres of LED screens. Singer Lauren Henderson and bass player Tasha Stevens will join the performance in this immersive and uplifting event.

The Adelaide Botanic Garden is holding a community seed swap event as a part of Nature Festival. Saving seeds is a great way to cut down on gardening costs, protect biodiversity, adapt to the changing climate and connect with a local community of like-minded garden lovers. Bring your saved seeds to share and leave with something new to add to the garden. This event is on in the Rose Garden Pavilion and entry is ticketed.
