In an era of unrelenting visual noise, standing out in the endless scroll rarely arrives by accident. It arrives through proximity, through a video and photography team that have been present since before the lens cap came off the camera.
South Australian agency Clique Creative have spent over a decade crafting and curating visuals and marketing solutions within the building, architectural and property industries.
Founded by Zoe Coates in 2011, this woman-owned and led business has worked with some of South Australia’s leading architects, builders and agents, known best for their connection and appreciation to architecture and design. Creative minds and designers alike will know that it’s not just the final project that needs its story told, but the journey, intention and people behind it that can capture an audience’s heart.

Working across photography, videography and marketing for people, property and projects, the Adelaide-based team have become trusted collaborators for some of the region’s most respected industry leaders. Not only for their craft and acuity, but also their genuine literacy in design.
We sat with the Clique team, to learn more about the knowledge that lies behind a finished frame.
“ A finished space is beautiful, but it doesn’t always tell you why it was made the way it was. Being present across the journey means we understand the decisions – the materials chosen, the orientation considered, the details that weren’t compromised. That knowledge lives in the final visuals, even if the viewer can’t name exactly why they feel so resolved.”
For Clique, immersion is the method. Travelling alongside the client on the full arc of their project allows them to collect the nuance they need, from site visits to design conversations.

“The technical execution matters – light, composition, timing – but those are tools in service of something larger. What we’re really doing is translating a space. Understanding its atmosphere, honouring its intention, and finding the angle, the moment, the edit that makes someone feel what it would be like to be inside it.”
Curious to know what this looks like in practice, we scratched the surface of the process with the team, to reveal what really happens behind the scenes.
“It looks like a genuine brief – a conversation. It looks like our whole core team being across a project from the start, so that by the time we’re on site, the briefing, the capture and the editing are all speaking the same language. There’s a moment in every project – somewhere between the shoot and the final edit – where the team shares a knowing look. A quiet acknowledgement that this is it. That’s what a considered approach produces. Not just visuals, but the right ones.

This fluency (architectural, emotional and visual) has cemented Clique Creative as a fixture in the building, architectural and property industries.
Their collaborative approach allows them to delve deeper into the heart of a project, which raises a question worth considering. Who better to tell the story, than someone who has been paying attention all along?
