Camp chaos, strong vocals and villainous mischief that proves the bad guys really do have more fun. ★★★

If the House of Mouse wandered into a glitter cannon and came out covered in sequins, double entendres, and a vocabulary that would make Belle clutch her pearls, you’ll land somewhere near Villains: A Dizney In Drag Parody. This cabaret gleefully twists familiar tales into something far cheekier.
Compared with its previous outing, the show feels more settled in its skin, leaning confidently into the camp, chaos and sparkle its audience is clearly here for. They waste no time hooking the room; Captain Hook would approve as they cast their spell early. The lead villain holds the show together, guiding the mayhem with a confident stage presence that keeps the whole enterprise ticking along nicely.
The Hairy Godmother, as usual, steals hearts and giggles in equal measure. The comic timing is sharp without trying too hard, and moments of improvisation are handled perfectly and almost majestically, turning into some of the evening’s biggest laughs. Musically, Malific*nt and Great Barrier Queef deliver strong, controlled and refined vocals that cut cleanly through the glittery mischief. It’s a welcome reminder that beneath the parody sits a solid foundation of musical skill.
The humour lands somewhere between Aladdin’s magic carpet ride and Ursula’s backstage gossip; bold, brash and very much not for delicate ears. Fair warning, if profanity is not your thing then this is not your fairy tale but if your language occasionally resembles that of a ravenous trucker who has been on the road too long, you’re absolutely in the right kingdom.
Cruella would call it fabulously chaotic. Cinderella might run for the carriage early, with both slippers on. But for audiences willing to embrace the glitter, the sass and the unapologetic camp, Villains delivers a cheeky night of drag mischief that proves one thing beyond doubt: in this fairy tale, the villains aren’t just misunderstood, they’re the ones who get the last laugh, the loudest applause and the fiercest strut offstage.
Villains: A Dizney in Drag Parody is playing at the May Wirth in Gluttony from March 10 – 22
