A riot of bold, cheeky and electrifying variety. ★★★★★

Sometimes the biggest punch in the gut comes from the smallest rooms: Tutti Frutti Circus & Cabaret Chaos proves the rule. Tucked inside a modest venue, this cabaret and variety show doesn’t just make an entrance, it wallops you in the face with unapologetic queer excellence.
In fact, it begins before you’ve even settled into your seat. As the house opens, the first act is already in motion, instantly pulling you into their deliciously chaotic world. It’s an ingenious idea, that immediately breaks down the usual performer/audience divide. Judging by the laughter, gasps and delighted reactions, it lands exactly as intended. From there, the energy never dips. The acts come thick and fast; electric, red-hot and delightfully naughty. Circus skill, cabaret flair and queer theatricality collide in a way that feels completely effortless. Time genuinely flies; there’s no clock-watching here because the show moves with such playful confidence that you’re too busy grinning to check.
What’s particularly refreshing is how naturally the show wears its queerness. It’s proudly, joyfully queer without ever feeling forced. Instead, it simply exists in the fabric of the performance: bold, cheeky and entirely authentic. Every performer feels like the kind of troublemaker our mothers warned us about and thank goodness for that. They’re fearless, charismatic and clearly having the times of their lives, which makes us feel like we’re part of the mischief. Flawless, filthy fun from start to finish, Tutti Frutti Circus & Cabaret Chaos deserves maximum exposure, much like a few of its acts. So peel yourself off the couch and grab tickets… before they split.
Tutti Frutti Circus & Cabaret Chaos is playing at The Lab at Fool’s Paradise March 11 – 22
