A magician’s rabbit attempts to run the act alone, turning classic tricks into gloriously chaotic fun. ★★★★

The Fritz Magic(ish) Show brings fun, surprises and a sense of the completely ridiculous to families. Fritz, a magician’s rabbit, finds itself in front of an Adelaide Fringe audience without its master, Madame Magica. In an effort to get the show back on track, Fritz attempts its master’s greatest tricks, quickly bringing chaos (and a lot of laughter).
Fritz’s version of the show begins with its twist on a classic disappearing act, which is as unconvincing as it is hilarious. With every trick that follows, from not-so-classic card tricks, to “reading of the mind”, to a different take on levitation, children and adults encouraged to join in the fun. Every child in the crowd gets a chance to shine, and Fritz makes sure there isn’t a dull moment.
This show suits slightly younger audiences than advertised, with children mostly between the ages of 3–10 getting involved. Overall, it’s a truly entertaining experience at the heart of Fringe, with an act full of magic or, at least, a little rabbit’s best attempt at it.
The Fritz Magic(ish) Show is playing at the Factory at the Garden of Unearthly Delights from February 20 – March 9
