Are you ready to say ‘Oooo!’? Are you ready to say ‘Aaah!’? Are you ready to lookout for some pesky rubber chickens trying to disrupt a magic show? Wait, no. There are definitely no rubber chickens in Josh Staley: Wacky Wizardry Goes Wrong.
This exciting show is a starter kit of magic classics for budding young illusionists, complete with colouring sheets, clown noses and some ‘how to’ instructionals. Get loud and get ready to show your love for some well-known tricks, with balloons, eggs and coins all in endless supply. And lots of rubber chickens. No, no. No rubber chickens to see here. This show is all about the wonderful absurdity of magic and fostering curious minds, not about checking there aren’t any rubber chickens. Not in this show.

Wacky Wizardry Goes Wrong is best viewed by kids ages 4-10, the stage when they’re most engaged by loud, fast comedy and well-placed pratfalls. It’s a perfect first magic show for little ones who haven’t seen magic before: the reliance on the classics might not engage the more seasoned viewer. There are a couple of jokes for the guardians, though, and they’re even allowed to get involved. In fact, they may even win $100… or a really crisp high five. But hey, it’s still a prize for participation.
