All bets are off as health-carer turned comedian Nurse Georgie Carroll dives gloves first into the Fringe with her hilarious accounts of the highs (and lows) of a nurse’s everyday insanity. Ever on form with her effortlessly relatable anecdotes, this show promises an hour of raunchy, bare-all joy. Be you a doctor or a “f*** all to do with healthcare”, not to worry. Georgie is welcoming to everyone in her set, so long as you’re down for a giggle.
That welcoming feeling is palpable throughout the show. Watching Georgie call on audience members who raise their hand, there’s always an ‘infectious’ desire to participate. No profession is an irrelevant profession but humour can be mined from all walks of life. With the laughter Georgie fosters, not taking oneself too seriously comes with ease. Infectious details the prevailing reminder that while the insane experiences linger with healthcare workers long after the scrubs are hung up, those crazy times might just be the best of times. Or at the very least, good for a laugh.
This is a “celebration of what we are”, and those looking for a night out that promises a good honest laugh, despite what makes us awkward, will love spending it here.
