In this week’s Poet’s Corner, another contribution from Sydney’s Glenn McPherson.

1.
heavy fog
a lone ant crossing
the rail bridge today
heavy fog
blinding commuters
a different journey
2.
fox ribs
opened by traffic
the crow eats its heart
what’s left
buried already
in delicate soil
3.
mosquitoes come down
under early summer stars
to the quiet river side
we draw sweet water –
the sound of ducks rustling
feathers in the bloodwood trees
4.
forty-five degrees –
every tree by the water
buckled in a vicious flood
forty-five degrees –
we hold hands but say nothing
these unsaid words weigh us down
