The Festival Plaza transforms into a celebration of French culture this weekend, featuring iconic dishes, regional wine and art. The festival launches with a cabaret night, setting the tone with performances including can-can dancers and roaming artists, as well as a French open-air cinema. Expect a lively atmosphere and the French spirit capturing la joie de vivre.

Fragmentary State

The Adelaide Central School of Art’s latest exhibition explores the versatile, illusionistic properties of clay and ceramic processes, collating a range of artists whose work emulates a range of natural and industrial materials. Fragmentary State features work by Em Frank and Miles Dunne, Honor Freeman, Kerryn Levy and Mark Valenzuela and is curated by ACSA graduate and Nexus Arts Gallery Manager Chiranjika Grasby.

Two Islands, One Thread: The Art and Cultures of Lombok & Bali

This exhibition uncovers the artistic exchanges and diversity over the past thousand years between two distinctive Indonesian societies; Hindu Bali and Muslim Lombok. The exhibition features an array of media including woven, embroidered, painted and tie-dyed textiles representing an illustration of each cultures beliefs and values and comprises unseen textiles from the AGSA collection, as well as loans from the West Nusa Tenggara State Museum.

Pretty Woman the Musical

Big mistake. Huge. One of the most loved rom-coms of the 20th century makes its way to Her Majesty’s Theatre this month. The stage adaptation of the iconic 1990 film Pretty Woman is directed and choreographed by two-time Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell and features an original score by Grammy winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. ARIA Award winner Samantha Jade also stars as Vivian Ward.

Dive into a treasure trove of vintage fashion, pre-loved pieces and sustainable style this weekend as one of Adelaide’s favourite markets returns to the Adelaide Showgrounds this Sunday. Expect some of the states best vintage sellers, collectors, makers and creative small businesses as well as an assortment of food trucks and live music in a dog-friendly setting suitable for all ages.
