After two years, Australia and England bring the tension as the age-old rivals battle it out across five days. Pack a hat, the zinc cream, soak up the sun and settle in for the high-stakes action taking place at Adelaide Oval until Sunday, December 21.
Moonlight CinemaAdelaide’s biggest screen is loaded with the biggest blockbusters, with old and new titles promising something for everyone. The Moonlight Cinema is open across the month with the latest hits including Jurassic World: Rebirth, Wicked, and Zootopia 2. Some of the biggest Christmas titles such as Love Actually, Home Alone, Elf and How the Grinch Stole Christmas also feature in the lead-up to the big day. The Moonlight Cinema is on at Botanic Park until February 15.

The spirit of Christmas is brought to life in this enchanting holiday spectacular by some of the world’s finest Irish dancers and musicians. Presented by A Taste of Ireland, A Celtic Christmas celebrates the festive season with Irish wit, traditional tunes and ballads alongside Christmas carol classics. Featured will be former World Irish dance Champions alongside stars from Lord of the Dance and Riverdance. A Celtic Christmas is at Her Majesty’s Theatre this Saturday, December 20.
Christmas at the MortlockThe State Library’s Mortlock Chamber is full of holiday cheer this festive season with an array of free Christmas activities on offer. This weekend, make your own Christmas ornaments, gift tags or Christmas fairies until Friday, December 19. The Spirit of Christmas Carols Choir also give a free performance on Saturday, December 20. Other festive highlights include storytelling under Adelaide’s largest indoor Christmas tree until Friday, December 19 and an exclusive display of treasures from the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant. Other free activities are also on offer with Christmas at the Mortlock until January 4.

This weekend, the Victor Harbor Artisan Market returns for its final markets of the year. Get the last minute Christmas shopping done on December 20 and 21, with artisan and bespoke goods on offer from a range of local vendors. Also, gear up for some festive fun across the weekend as the Cockle Train puts on a Southern Lights Christmas special from December 20 until 23. The iconic fleet is decked out in Christmas decorations and lights, and is spreading the festive cheer from Victor Harbor to Goolwa.
