Meander Market
Find unique goodies to go under the tree at the Taste of Melbourne Street at Meander Market this Saturday. This artisan Christmas market will showcase a curated selection premium and bespoke goods in the stalls set in Jerningham Street and along Melbourne Street. There will be free face painting and caricatures, as well as the opportunity to get a photo with Father Christmas himself. Meander Market takes place on Melbourne Street in North Adelaide.
Christmas at the Bay
Expect colour, music and magic this weekend as Christmas at the Bay brings the festive spirit to Glenelg on Saturday, December 8. Highlights of the day include Christmas crafts, market stalls, face painting, games and photo opportunities with Santa, with community carols to end the evening on a high note. Christmas at the Bay takes place at Jimmy Melrose Park on Glenelg’s foreshore, with activations also across Mosely Square and the Bay Discovery Centre, and entry is free.
The Glass Menagerie
Amanda Wingfield is a struggling single mum raising her two children, Tom and Laura, in their cramped apartment in 1930s St Louis. Things just aren’t going as planned – Amanda isn’t having any luck finding a husband for her shy daughter, while her son is keen to escape the burden of home life. This semi-autobiographical play was written by acclaimed 20th-century American playwright Tennessee Williams. The Glass Menagerie is directed by Shannon Rush and stars Kathryn Adams as Amanda alongside Laurence Boxhall, Jono Darby and Ksenja Logos. This State Theatre Company South Australia production is on at Norwood’s Odeon Theatre until December 7.
Victor Harbor half marathon
Race to the finish line for the Victor Harbor Half Marathon on December 7. The 21.1-kilometre route is one of the flattest in Australia and includes jaw-dropping views of Encounter Bay, The Bluff and Granite Island. This event is open to participants of all abilities, with 10-kilometre and five-kilometre options, as well as a kids’ dash. Race entry also includes aid stations, race day medical support, electronic timing, race photography, post-race beverages and a post-race massage. The Victor Harbor Half Marathon is part of the Great Southern Runs series.

This Christmas edition of Gathered Market in the Mall is the perfect opportunity to get the Christmas shopping done on December 6 and 7. Expect a wide range of products from South Australian producers including clothing, homewares, art, jewellery, ceramics, skincare and more across two massive days. There will also be the perfect chance to refuel with food and drinks on offer from local producers in Gawler Place. The Christmas edition of Gathered Markets in the Mall will take up residence in Rundle Mall from 9am until 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Sit or recline on a yoga mat and take the stillness of night and quiet resilience of the American spirit that Copeland captures in Rodeo: Coral Nocturne, Silvestrov’s meditative Prayer for Ukraine and the contemporary textures of Caroline Shaw’s in manus taus and Entr’acte. This continuation of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra’s Sanctuary series will take place at their Grainger Studio in the city.
Minda Community Christmas Carols and Markets
This weekend Minda’s most anticipated annual event is back, bigger than ever, with plenty of festive cheer this Saturday, December 6. The Minda Community Christmas Carols and Markets feature market stalls, food trucks, rides and amusements, face painting, a petting zoo, Christmas carols and a visit from Father Christmas. Also expect live music and entertainment from the 10th/27th Battalion Royal SA Regiment Band, Australian Girls Chior and Pocco Tutti Chior. The Minda Community Christmas Carols takes place at Minda Brighton on King George Avenue and entry is free.
Adelady Christmas Village
Mark your calendars as the Adelady Christmas Village is set to return on December 12 and 13. Featuring over 100 stalls of local gifts, fashion, food and festive goodies as well as free children’s Christmas activities. Sponsored by the City of Adelaide, soak up the cheerful atmosphere and festive fun. The Adelaide Christmas Village is located in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga.
