What to do in SA this weekend
This weekend, race to the finish line at the 2025 City-Bay Fun Run or head to Mount Pleasant for the SA Spring Garden Festival.
City-Bay Fun Run
Race to the finish line for the 2025 City-Bay Fun Run, which returns this Sunday. Join thousands of participants as they run or walk the three-, six- and 12-kilometre routes, as well as the more recent addition of a half-marathon, with plenty of live entertainment along the way. There’s prize money for top finishers in the 12-kilometre and half-marathon races. Fresh fruit, market stalls and various food and beverage options are available at The Village at Glenelg’s Colley Reserve, where there will also be post-race presentations. Tickets include a race day guide, free transport to and from the finish lines, free Mount Lofty water and Posca Hydrate, and a participant race medal.
SA Spring Garden Festival
Head to the charming town of Mount Pleasant this Saturday for the SA Spring Garden Festival. This garden extravaganza will include everything from plant stalls to garden-themed workshops and craft activities for children. A highlight of this year’s festival will be a talk from guest speaker Hannah Moloney, who will share her passion for organic gardening and environmental advocacy. Tickets to the SA Spring Garden Festival are available online or at the gate for $15 per person, while children under 16 are free.
SANFL Grand Final
Sherrins will be flying this Sunday for the 2025 SANFL Grand Final at Adelaide Oval. The day will begin with the SANFL Reserves Grand Final, and then the SANFL Grand Final is on at 2.30pm. Ultimate bragging rights will be given to the premiership team, with their colours emblazoned on the West End Chimney. There’ll be plenty to do throughout the day, including free activities, entertainment and giveaways at the Festival of Footy.
Grenache & Gourmet
Running from September 19 to October 6, the Grenache & Gourmet Festival will bring the McLaren Vale Wine Region alive with immersive food and wine experiences to celebrate the region’s hero variety: grenache. Showcasing the heart and soul of the region, the festival will bring together winemakers, chefs, growers and producers for a series of events that highlight the stories behind McLaren Vale grenache. From exclusive tastings and long-table feasts to meet-the-maker masterclasses, Grenache & Gourmet features more than 28 events.

Travel back in time for the 2025 Victor Harbor Rock ‘N’ Roll Festival, taking place from September 19 to 21. Now in its 16th year, this festival showcases the best fashion, music and vehicles of the 1950s and ’60s. This year, there will be two stages, with classic rock ‘n’ roll at Warland Reserve and rockabilly along Ocean Street and the Grosvenor Hotel. Other highlights include displays of classic and vintage cars and historic motorcycles, the Fashion on the Fleurieu competition, the Shoreline Showstopper pin-up pageant, a scenic cruise from McLaren Vale to Victor Harbor, classic film screenings at Victa Cinema, a kids’ zone, food trucks and market stalls.
Woolcock Reynella fashion show
Discover the latest fashion trends as Woolcock Reynella unveils its summer collection. The South Australian fashion house was established in 1930 to bring haute couture from around the globe to women in the antipodes and continues to do so to this day. This summer parade takes place at Woolcock Reynella’s showroom at 184 Old South Road, Reynella, on September 19, 20 and 22, with morning tea served at the event’s conclusion.
