Welcome to the first SALIFE edition of the year – our Summer Issue. We turn up the heat and discover some of our favourite warm weather places, products and activities.
Some of my favourite summer memories take place on South Australia’s stunning Fleurieu Peninsula. Lazy mornings at Normanville with nothing to do but sip coffee in the fresh air, afternoons spent painting the ocean scenes with my son, relaxed dinners and strolls on the beach – it’s all abundantly ideal.
This month, we champion this region as Ben Kelly ventures out to see just why this part of the world is so special. Ben was given the tough task of discovering some of the best hospitality – and people – this region has to offer. Take some notes for your next trip.
We’ve further embraced the season by bringing you some of our favourite things to do, eat, sip, read and wear when the temperature climbs.
Working for this magazine, we’re fortunate enough to step inside so many beautiful homes. Now, I don’t like to play favourites, but this month, we feature a Toorak Gardens renovation that truly blew me away.
The interplay of calm and confidence in the colour choices is something special.
We also meet a former Adelaidean, now based in Milan. David Brown has worked his way up in Italy to become one of Europe’s most successful modelling agents. David chats to Genevieve Meegan about the path he’s taken and some of the famous names he’s worked with.
Then, Jessica Galletly catches up with the Ngyuen family, who have built a hospitality empire here in South Australia. The siblings host a lunch and share a delicious recipe.
Speaking of food, Natalie Homan has delivered some very refreshing recipes centred around summer fruit. Let the gorgeous photographs inspire you to create something fresh for summer evenings with friends.
We hope you’re soaking up the summer, and we’ll see you again next month.
