More direct flights will operate between Adelaide and Hong Kong this summer, as Cathay Pacific expands its service by nearly 50 per cent.
The seasonal route will take off from November, with three flights per week; before ramping up to five fights between December and February.
The expansion represents an increased seat capacity by nearly 50 per cent since the airline returned to Adelaide skies last year.

Cathay Pacific Southeast Asia and Oceania regional general manager Aldric Chau said the extra services would connect South Australians with Hong Kong and other “destinations across Asia, Europe, North America and beyond”.
From November, the flights – which will be on the airline’s state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft – will arrive on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights, and depart the next day.
Additional Monday and Friday night flights will operate between December and February.
State Development Minister Chris Picton said the expansion “demonstrates the strength of our state’s international appeal”.
“These extra non-stop flights will provide long-term economic benefits for our state by increasing tourism, boosting international student visitation and powering exports ‒ including with our biggest trading partners in Asia,” he said in a statement.
Adelaide Airport managing director Brenton Cox expected the route to be popular “for both inbound and outbound tourism, international students and our local exporters.”
