New leader for award-winning winery

Adelaide Hills winery Bird in Hand has appointed long-term servant Mashoom Tait as its new CEO.

Tait has worked at Bird in Hand for more than a decade and was most recently brand director, where she was responsible for the establishment of the business’s European arm in London.

In her new role, Tait will provide leadership as Bird in Hand continues its “premiumisation”, export market development and growth of its Tasmanian portfolio.

Tait was originally an IT engineer and has prior business, communications and commercial strategy experience as founder of a fashion and lifestyle events business.

“Mashoom has been instrumental in shaping Bird in Hand into the global brand that it is today. Her understanding of the business, combined with her international perspective and leadership capability, make her the natural choice to lead our next chapter,” Bird in Hand founder Andrew Nugent said.

Deputy commissioner appointed to ICAC

Cassandra White has been appointed the next deputy commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).

In the role, White will have a key leadership role within the state’s anti-corruption watchdog and have oversight of legal, prevention and compliance sections.

White has spent the past 21 years working in the Crown Solicitor’s Office’s Employment Law section, where she currently serves as an executive solicitor.

Across her career, she has also worked in high-level roles at SafeWork SA and Sparke Helmore Lawyers.

“I have every faith in her ability to provide strong leadership of one of our key integrity bodies, working alongside the Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption, in holding Government agencies to account and combatting corruption and maladministration in the public sector,” Deputy Premier Kyam Maher said.

Business director appointed at Jarvis Marketing and OMD Adelaide

Jarvis Marketing and OMD Adelaide have appointed Cameron Mudge as their new business director.

In the new role, Mudge will be responsible for the development and growth of the business, where he will work across both media and creative teams.

Mudge was the former general manager and sales director of Paramount and Network 10, where he was responsible for driving national strategies for brands including Mitsubishi Motors Australia and worked closely with the SA Tourism Commission.

He was formerly the client executive for Nova Radio Australia and Austereo, which is responsible for Triple M, FIVEAA, and Nova National Network stations.

“I’ve always admired the agility and client-first mindset of the team and this transition into agency allows me to take the deep insights I’ve gained at Network 10 and Paramount and apply them across a broader landscape,” Mudge said.

Adelaide Festival Centre announces head of marketing

Senior marketing leader Michelle Reid has been appointed head of marketing at Adelaide Festival Centre.

Reid brings more than 20 years of experience across arts, culture and live entertainment, having led marketing and communications at major South Australian institutions.

She has spent the past 15 years as marketing and communications director at the Adelaide Festival of Arts, where she has delivered high-profile, strategic marketing and communications campaigns.

Prior to that, Reid was marketing and public relations manager for the Adelaide Fringe and State Theatre Company South Australia, where she was also a publicist.

“She is recognised for bold, insight-led campaigns that grow audiences, strengthen brand equity and deliver multi-million-dollar box office outcomes,” an Adelaide Festival Centre spokesperson said.

New leadership team at Feast Festival

Feast Festival has welcomed two key appointments as the organisation prepares for its 30th anniversary in 2027.

Skye Bee

Skye Bee has been named as Feast’s executive director and will bring more than 15 years of experience as an arts and operations leader.

Bee has delivered large-scale programs across festivals, events, and community initiatives, including as operations manager for Access2Arts and Event Crowd.

Bee is also a multi-disciplinary artist, producer and performer known for their cultural integration and community safety across Adelaide’s performing arts and queer community scenes.

Award-winning artist and theatre-maker Katherine Sortini will step into the newly-created creative director role.

Sortini has served as creative producer for Feast Festival since 2022 and has also performed as an artist.

She is a creative producer at the South Australian Playwrights Theatre and has programmed and managed events, engaged stakeholders and delivered community-driven cultural experiences.

Sortini is also the artistic director and founder of Deus Ex Femina and has worked as marketing coordinator for Ink Pot Arts.

“This invigorating change for Feast Festival is making a statement to the significant contribution, place and relevance of South Australia’s queer culture, our communities, creative innovation and belonging,” board chair Penny McAuley said.

BRM Advisory welcomes David Stobbe

Business management consulting firm BRM Advisory has appointed David Stobbe as an associate director.

David Stobbe

Stobbe has more than 20 years of experience supporting boards and leadership teams across multiple sectors, including government, energy, and emergency services.

He recently led the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council as CEO and is a current board director and treasurer at CFS Foundation.

Stobbe has also held multiple finance roles on the board of directors, including for SANFL’s Central District Football Club and Harness Racing South Australia.

“David is a seasoned executive and advisor with more than 20 years’ experience supporting Boards and senior leadership teams across local government, energy, emergency services, sport and the arts,” a BRM spokesperson said.
