Connecting Foster and Kinship Carers South Australia appoints new CEO
Connecting Foster and Kinship Carers South Australia (CFKCSA) has announced the appointment of Russell Hooper as its new CEO.

Hooper has more than 15 years’ experience working in family and social services policy across both public and not-for-profit sectors.
He has previously served as the director of policy for gaming and liquor at the Department of Justice and Community Safety in Victoria and was the interim CEO of the Office of the Victims of Crime Commissioner.
Hooper has previously volunteered as a mentor for young people exiting residential care and has volunteered with Backpacks 4 SA Kids since moving to SA.
“I look forward to developing strong relationships with our community of foster and kinship carers, the Carer Council, the broader sector and the government,” Hooper said.
Alligator Energy appoints managing director
Alligator Energy has announced the appointment of Dr Andrea Marsland-Smith to the role of managing director to go alongside her current position as CEO.

She has more than 30 years of experience in the uranium mining industry, where she has been recognised with several awards including 2016’s recipient of the Exceptional Women in Resources Award.
Marsland-Smith stepped into the role of CEO at Alligator Energy nine months ago, after previously serving as chief operating officer for the company.
She has previously held roles as a senior manager at Heathgate Resources, where she was tasked with providing technical and management support and managed stakeholder relations with a particular focus on Indigenous engagement.
“Over the past nine months, she has demonstrated exceptional capability and leadership as CEO, delivering strong strategic and operational progress,” Alligator Energy chairman Paul Dickson said.
Troy Jamieson joins Urbex
Industry leader Troy Jamieson has joined national property developer Urbex as its project director, following the acquisition of 3.71-hectare residential site at Sellicks Beach.

Jamieson has more than 20 years’ experience across South Australia’s property, development, infrastructure and government sectors, including senior roles at national developers Lend Lease Communities and Devine Communities.
He was the senior development manager at Forthwell and senior project manager at Maxwell Francis where he was responsible for the delivery of maritime repair work.
In the role at Urbex, Jamieson would oversee significant development at the Sellicks Beach site that is expected to deliver approximately 65 new homesites and support the company’s growth in SA.
“Appointing Troy, with his deep local experience and long‑standing relationships, ensures our South Australian projects are led by someone who understands the state’s market dynamics, regulatory environment and community expectations,” Urbex general manager Carl Bruhn said.

Chief customer officer for National Pharmacies
National Pharmacies has appointed London-born retail executive Alex Palin to the role of chief customer officer.

Palin has more than 15 years’ experience leading merchandise and commercial strategy across large-scale private retail organisations in both Australia and UK.
He managed more than 900 On The Run’s and Reddy Express stores as general manager for merchandise at OTR Group, where he was responsible for merchandise strategy and performance, and commercial outcomes across a national retail network.
In previous roles, Palin served as the buying manager for Tesco in the UK, and a senior category and strategy manager for Coles Group.
“His skills and experience will help strengthen our multiple offerings in-store and online and support our continued focus on delivering greater access to trusted, high quality optical, health and wellbeing services for our members and customers,” National Pharmacies CEO Mark Smith said.
Architectural leader promoted to principal
Studio Nine Architects in Kent Town has promoted senior associate Jaana Bithell to principal after 10 years at the company.

Bithell is Studio Nine’s hospitality sector and interior design team lead where she is responsible for guiding projects and supporting team development.
She has more than 15 years’ experience in interior architectural roles, having previously worked as an interior designer for Hindmarsh firm Koush Designs.
During her time at Grieve Gillett Andersen, Bithell was responsible for spatial master-planning, interior form massing and 3D visualisation to deliver functional interiors for clients.
“She brings a quiet and calm leadership style that is grounded in logic, kindness and empathy, and consistently delivers thoughtful, high-quality design,” managing director Andrew Steele said.
New general manager joins Sagle Constructions
Sagle Constructions has appointed experienced building industry leader Luke Crouch as its new general manager for South Australia.

Crouch has more than 20 years’ experience in commercial construction roles, having spent the past 15 years as senior project manager at Hansen Yuncken.
In his role at Hansen Yuncken, Crouch was responsible for several projects across health, defence, education and entertainment sectors including the expansion of SkyCity Casino and the construction of the Flinders University Health and Medical Research Building.
He will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently and will work with leadership teams to drive delivery of Sagle’s strategic plan to position Sagle as a national construction leader by 2030.
“His experience and leadership across complex, high‑value projects, together with his commercial knowledge, will help push us further into new sectors while supporting the consistency and reliability our clients expect from our company,” Sagle managing director Daniel Lees said.
