Mallory Papantoniou & Jack King

Aug 21, 2026, updated Aug 21, 2026

Every detail was personal in this wedding at Carrick Hill and Sunnybrae Estate.

It was crush at first sight when 12-year-old Mallory’s family purchased a holiday home, named The Love Shack, in Blanchetown – two doors down from 13-year-old Jack’s family’s, The Sugar Shack.

Almost two decades later, the couple walked down the aisle at Carrick Hill after Jack proposed surrounded by balloons, rose petals, flowers and music during a hotel stay at Eos by SkyCity. As a wedding coordinator, it was important to Mallory to include elements that felt deeply personal – such as their own vows.

“Because I’ve seen so many, and been a part of so many people’s day, I wanted it to feel exactly like ‘mine’,” she says. “Everything was personal to me.”

What were some personal elements that were important for you to have at your wedding?
Our own vows and having it outdoors. Everything to me was personal – because I’ve seen so many and been part of so many people’s day, I wanted it to feel exactly like mine and not a copy and paste of one I’ve seen.

What did you love about your dress?
I loved everything, the lace detailing, the sleeves and how they were detachable so it didn’t restrict me. The corset top, the over skirt to give me two-in-one look. It was so lightweight and easy to wear.

What was your inspiration behind the styling?
Elegant, timeless, soft, romantic and garden soiree vibes.

What were your favourite parts of the day?

Walking down the aisle, walking into the reception, nailing the first dance, reading our vows, and the dancefloor.

Looking back, what would you recommend for anyone else planning their big day?
If something “bad” happens, don’t stress about it. It’s not the end of the world. Soak it all in while you can. Make sure to get enough sleep the night before. Pick good suppliers because they will look after you.
