There is no shortage of enthusiasm in Dr Verity Cooper’s campaign. I have seen campaigns before for various parties in both New Zealand and Australia and this one is very professional and very involving, while also a lot of fun for the many volunteers. In that aspect alone, the candidate shows real leadership skills. The sobering aspect is the huge amount of money required. This is not so easy for its young supporters. Another aspect to note is the difficulty a “new” candidate has in breaking through into the media. InDaily is to be commended for showing that voters in Sturt have a real and exciting choice beyond the usual parties. – Jock Churchman
I find Dr Verity’s comments about bulk billing rather disingenuous. The decision to bulk bill after November 1, 2025 still lies with the practice. So if she doesn’t want ‘millionaires’ to get bulk billed and families with both parents working and children missing out, there’s always the option of continuing the current arrangements where only children under 16 and those holding Commonwealth Concession cards get bulk billed. – Helen Chadwick
AA losing the conservative listener in breakfast and not growing in mid-afternoon is because they are becoming centre-left announcers with no opinion. GG in the mornings is the exception and has been a revelation in his newborn self. He used to be so boring. Why is it that 2GB has had record ratings? It is because they have taken a clear centre-right stance. AA needs to get back to its demographic. – John Lewis
Outstanding editorial on the recent radio ratings. Small wonder that Penberthy and Goodings have nosedived again. Their self-congratulatory product lacks any substance at all; if they didn’t have a copy of The Advertiser on hand they’d have nothing to talk about… and listeners have tired of their fanboyism for the Premier: Mali, as they call him. – Kevin Whitford
I’m having some difficulty putting two-and-two together here. At the same time that the pollsters are telling us that the cost of living is the major election issue, someone else is telling us that Adelaide desperately needs a “dedicated luxury shopping precinct in [the] CBD” because of “the continued strength of luxury retail across the globe”. Please explain. – Barbara Fergusson
Why get rid of our heritage and wonderful department stores? Paris still has Printemps and Galerie Lafayette! We have lost Moores, Miller Andersons and Myer has been destroyed. Adelaide is no longer the classy city it once was. We all loved Myer’s basement and David Jones supermarket, which rolled out great European bread and fresh cookies! – Elizabeth Naumczyk
Where is this candidate and who is Mr Rothe? Tony Pasin is well known to the people of Murray Bridge and district. He is a hard-working and brings home the bacon for his electorate. If this candidate wishes to succeed, then he needs to put on his big boy pants and get out amongst the local community. – Dianne Dawson Cooper
