A former reality TV contestant is scheduled to enter her pleas to murder and destroying human remains in the Adelaide Magistrates court today.

Tamika Chesser is charged with the murder of 39-year-old Julian Story and one count of destroying human remains to pervert the course of justice.

It was alleged she killed, beheaded and then burned the body of Story, 39, her then-partner, at Port Lincoln in June last year.

Story was a Port Lincoln local, while Chesser had recently moved to the area from Queensland.

It is alleged that Chesser carried out the murder about midnight on June 17, with Story’s head discovered by a dog walker some weeks later, on July 31.

Following her arrest, Chesser was remanded into the custody of the James Nash forensic mental health facility.

She was pregnant at the time and gave birth to a child in March.

The alleged murder rocked Port Lincoln and the wider community, making headlines around the country and overseas.

Speaking at the time, Story’s family said they were “navigating an unimaginable loss”.

Chesser appeared in the second series of the reality show Beauty and the Geek, placing second.
