‘Never be able to thank everyone enough’: Crows legend Modra up and about
A heartwarming update has landed from Crows superstar Tony Modra after his horrific accident, one month after surgery.
Crows superstar Tony Modra has posted a much-welcomed update and picture with his doting family on social media, again thanking fans and emergency response crews across South Australia for all the support after his car accident last month.
Alongside a picture with his wife Erica and two children, Hayley and Luke, Modra looks to be healing after receiving horrifying injuries during wild weather on the Fleurieu Peninsula that led to him being rushed to hospital and days spent in emergency.
Since then he has received several operations to tackle facial injuries but Mods says he is gradually getting better.
“I’m getting out and about a bit now, and slowly catching up on everything I missed over the last month,” he said on his official Instagram account.
“I’m so humbled to learn how many people were cheering these incredible medical teams on… and our family too. I’ll never be able to thank everyone enough.”
Modra was seriously injured after the truck he was driving hit a tree about 5:15pm at Back Valley, near Victor Harbor.

The Crows forward known for his huge marks and incredible goal-kicking skills played a total of 165 AFL games for the Adelaide Crows and Fremantle Dockers.
He debuted for Adelaide in 1992, and was the club’s leading goal kicker for five straight seasons, winning the league’s Coleman medal in 1997.
Another Crows legend Rory Sloane was quick to respond to the post saying “Still as handsome as ever xx”
