Major crime detectives are searching southern waterways to find three knives believed to be connected to a murder last month.

SA Police’s Water Operations Unit and Major Crime detectives are searching waterways adjacent to Morphett Vale’s Christie Creek/Martson Reserve for knives they believe are connected to the alleged murder of Cale Leriano.
Leriano, a 24-year-old chef, was found with life-threatening injuries in a red BMW sedan that crashed in Morphett Vale on March 11.
At the time, police said Leriano’s injuries were not consistent with the crash, and his death was declared a major crime.
SAPOL today said investigators have identified three knives they believe were connected to the murder.

Acting officer in charge detective inspector Andrew Macrae said “anyone who has seen any of these knives or knows of their whereabouts to contact police”.
A 22-year-old man from Brabham, Western Australia – north east of Perth – has been extradited to South Australia and charged with murder.
The man has been remanded in custody to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in September.
