The 2025 South Australian Business Index showcases the state’s top 100 private and public companies.
Submissions are now open for the 2025 South Australian Business Index.
The Index – in its 11th year – is the state’s most definitive guide to our top 100 private and public companies, helping to measure and monitor the financial performance of South Australia’s business sector.
HLB Mann Judd partner Katelyn Adams, whose firm has proudly sponsored the event for the past nine years, said the Index highlights “the depth and perseverance of many of the state’s businesses”, and forecasts interesting fluctuations this year.
“We have seen some mergers and acquisitions activity over the past 12 months,” she said.
“Coupled with a stagnant IPO market, this should account for some movement in the Index.
“We are excited to see which new private companies will apply this year with the hopes of being recognised on the day. We love showcasing new businesses in the Index.”
To be eligible for inclusion in the list, companies must be a South Australian entity with an Adelaide ownership register or be a South Australian-operated entity; and be founded and majority-owned by South Australians.
Companies owned in part or whole by government, government agencies and organsiations, and registered charities are not eligible for consideration in the main Index.
Ranking is based on research by HLB Mann Judd, with information received via the nominations process ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Last year’s top 100 saw Living Choice Australia becoming the highest-ranking new entrant on the list at No.16, while Mayne Pharma Group was recognised for largest revenue growth for 2024.
The 2024 Rising Star award sponsored by South Australian Business Chamber went to Exact Contracting, while Humanihut won the award for Corporate Social Responsibility.
“The SABI event is a highlight of the business calendar, bringing together some of South Australia’s best business leaders and showing off our great SA companies,” Adams said.
“HLB Mann Judd have been a proud sponsor of the index for nine years, last year taking on the role of data partner. It’s a great honour being able to bring attention to our state’s best performing companies.
“I really look forward to analysing the data and getting to deep dive and highlight some exceptional South Aussie businesses.
“Supporting SA business is at the very heart of what we do at HLB Mann Judd Adelaide. For more than 75 years, we have been working with a range of large and small businesses across the state.”
The top 100 companies will be revealed at the South Australian Business Index lunch at Adelaide Convention Centre on October 17. This is a must-attend event for business professionals wanting to do business in South Australia.
