Emali North Plympton officially opens its doors: A new benchmark in early learning

Jun 11, 2026, updated Jun 11, 2026

A new chapter in South Australian early childhood education has officially begun, with Emali Early Learning Centre, North Plympton now open and welcoming children and families through its doors.

Marking Emali’s 10th centre across Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills, the much-anticipated opening represents more than just a new childcare centre for the Adelaide owned & operated organisation. It reflects over two decades of experience, innovation and community-focused care, bringing together thoughtfully designed learning environments, specialised programs and purpose-built spaces that support every child’s growth, development and wellbeing.

Located on Marion Road, the centre has transformed a once-forgotten heritage building into a vibrant early learning destination. Rather than demolishing and rebuilding, Emali chose to honour the site’s history by restoring key architectural features and integrating them with contemporary extensions and modern educational facilities. The result is a unique environment where heritage charm meets innovative early learning design.

Designed Around Children’s Development

Like all Emali centres, every aspect of Emali North Plympton has been intentionally created to support children’s learning, curiosity and confidence.

One of the centre’s most exciting features is its expansive outdoor sports field, providing children with the space to run, explore, build gross motor skills and participate in structured sports and physical activity programs. The spacious field reflects Emali’s commitment to encouraging healthy, active lifestyles from an early age while fostering teamwork, resilience and confidence.

Inside, children can discover a dedicated Music & Movement Room where rhythm, creativity and self-expression come to life. Through music, dance and interactive movement experiences, children are encouraged to develop coordination, confidence and social skills in a fun and engaging environment.

The centre also features Emali’s signature Sensory Space, developed in collaboration with specialist occupational therapists. Building on the success of sensory environments already established at Emali Salisbury and Emali Campbelltown, the North Plympton sensory room introduces even more opportunities for exploration and regulation, including a unique indoor rock-climbing wall designed to promote confidence, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Together, the classrooms, specialised spaces and restored heritage home create a warm and inviting environment that caters to different learning styles, interests and developmental requirements ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
