Discover why it’s quickly become the city’s signature outdoor celebration.
The Adelaide Polo Classic has swiftly established itself as one of South Australia’s most-anticipated outdoor events – where the excitement of world-class polo meets a curated hospitality experience showcasing some of the state’s best.
Mark your calendar for Friday, December 12 at Ellis Park/Tampawardli, when Adelaide once again comes together for an unforgettable day of polo, fine food and premium experiences.
This year’s event continues to elevate the standard of end-of-year celebrations, with hospitality options to suit every style of gathering. Whether entertaining clients, rewarding staff or coming together with friends, the Polo Classic offers something more dynamic and memorable than the usual restaurant or function room.
Guests can choose from a variety of premium settings. Private Marquees provide a bespoke, fully serviced environment for larger groups, while Polo Club High Tables offer an elegant and social vantage point for smaller parties.
For those seeking indulgence, the Veuve Clicquot VIP Marquee presents a refined experience of champagne and canapés, while The Stables delivers a vibrant, festival-like atmosphere with live music and entertainment.
At its heart, the Adelaide Polo Classic champions South Australian talent and enterprise. This year’s food and beverage partners reflect the very best of Adelaide’s thriving scene. EMBR Hospitality director and chef Sam Worrall-Thompson will curate offerings from some of the city’s most-loved venues – including Oliveti, Bar Lune, Dolly and Fettle – bringing diverse flavours and creativity to the table.
In The Stables, One Sneaky Cheetah will be presenting an accessible yet exciting food offering, ensuring the energy of the precinct is matched by its cuisine.
Drinks will be flowing thanks to Mismatch Brewing Co., Somewhen Wines, and local brand of RTD Vodka & Seltzer South Ave, who are a real SA success story with a national footprint.
Continuing community alignment, Fox Real Estate has come on board as Real Estate Partner, further strengthening ties to respected local brands.
While the Adelaide Polo Classic proudly remains locally owned and operated, new global partnerships bring a heightened sense of prestige.
“We feel incredibly fortunate to have the ongoing support of The Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA), who have backed our vision from the beginning,” event director Luke Schapel says.
“New partnerships with premium brands like Veuve Clicquot and Burnside Village have elevated the event to another level, and we’re excited to share that experience with Adelaide this summer.”
This year also sees the Adelaide Polo Classic deepen its partnership with the Jodi Lee Bowel Cancer Foundation. Together, the event aims to raise more than $10,000 to support the Foundation’s important awareness and prevention programs.
In just a few short years, the Polo Classic has become a not-to-be-missed celebration to close out the year. The combination of live sport, curated food and beverage experiences, music and premium settings makes it a standout occasion on Adelaide’s calendar.
“We’re grateful that South Australians have embraced the Polo Classic so quickly and helped it become Adelaide’s signature outdoor celebration,” Schapel says. “As a proudly locally owned-and-operated event, it’s the perfect way to mark the end of the year in style.”
This December, the Adelaide Polo Classic returns with more to taste, more to celebrate and more to experience – all under the South Australian sun.
