Fashion stylist and co-director of Bellarouge Dance, Carmel Margaritis, shares what she’s loving in life and Adelaide right now.
What does your idea of the perfect day look like?
Morning coffee at a local coffee shop, then a drive into the Adelaide Hills for a pub meal and wine with my partner, Paddy, and teenage daughters. Then getting back home in the late afternoon, sitting out in the garden with another wine with Paddy, chatting about all sorts and soaking up the last bit of sun and fresh air. We’d then finish the night watching a movie as a family.
What is a moment of kindness you have experienced?
A few weeks ago I was walking down Rundle Mall to the post office and it suddenly started pouring with rain. A kind person approached me to share their umbrella with me.
What is your favourite photograph?
It was always my dream to go to New York with my daughters, and something I’d worked so hard and long for. I remember crying as we landed in the US, and feeling a sense of pride that I could do this for them.

If you could own any piece of art, what would it be?
I recently commissioned a piece from local Adelaide artist Greer Tappert, which takes pride of place in my living area. I would love to invest in another piece as I love the detail in her work, and her style really suits my home.
Here’s $500. You have to spend it in the next hour – what are you buying?
The new model of the Dyson Air wrap – I love it so much that I’m always wanting to invest in the latest model since the product launched.
A cafe or restaurant in SA you’d recommend?
Fugazzi in the city for a date night, or Caffe Primo in Tea Tree Plaza for a relaxed meal with my girls.
What was the last film or TV show you watched?
All Her Fault on Netflix … I binged it, it was so good!
Favourite way to unwind?
Watching a movie with snacks … I absolutely love movies and for me, it’s the only way to relax and not think. I also like to go for a drive playing music really loudly, or dancing – that always recharges my soul.
Last book you read?
Sell Like Crazy … This helped me when I began my new business, Pout Pouch.
Last song you listened to?
Don’t Know Much by Linda Ronstadt.
