Crows co-captain Ebony Marinoff is set to play her milestone 100th AFLW game on September 28, making her the first player in AFLW history – alongside Brisbane’s Ally Anderson – to make the significant achievement.
What brings you joy in life? Playing the game I love and celebrating with my teammates when they do something special, like when someone lays a good tackle or smother. Outside of football spending time with all my favourite humans brings me joy, but my favourite thing to do is cook for my people.
Most treasured photograph? I can’t go past this photo from the W awards last year. It’s a photo with all my teammates who were there on the night – I asked them to come up to the stage so we could celebrate the moment together as it was special to me to share it. Winning the W medal was not just my moment; my teammates helped me get there and were the reason I achieved it.
Hardest lesson you’ve had to learn? Not everyone thinks the same or even has the same drive as you, even in a professional environment.
Best advice you’ve been given? Just to work hard. Hard work does pay off so just to continue always working towards a goal.
Best meal you’ve ever eaten? A gnocchi dish at my school friend’s wedding. Unbelievable!!!
Best purchase? That would have to be my house.
Top five songs on your play list? I don’t have five favourite songs. I listen to a mixed bag, including Florence + The Machine, Nicki Minaj, Sabrina Carpenter and Lola Young.
My life philosophy is… everything happens for a reason.
