A popular breakfast radio show has suffered a serious fall in the Adelaide radio rankings, while one trailing trio becomes a duo after a sudden axing.

The FIVEAA breakfast show hosted by Will Goodings and Stacey Lee suffered a 2.3 per cent decline in overall listener share in the latest GfK Adelaide radio ratings.

It places the duo – normally a trio with David Penberthy, who is on leave overseas – in third position overall on the breakfast ladder.

But FIVEAA still commands 11.3 per cent of total Adelaide listeners in the breakfast slot, down from 13.6 per cent in the prior survey.

Overall, FIVEAA is the fifth-ranked Adelaide radio station after its share of total listeners across the entire week dropped by 1.1 per cent to 8.7 per cent.

The ratings come after news emerged that SAFM axed radio host Emma Georgiadis from the station’s breakfast show as part of a “strategic transition”.

SAFM’s breakfast team is now a duo, with Bernie Vince and Belinda Sloan – ‘Bel & Bernie’ – staying on air.

But the show is near the bottom of the ratings, with the latest survey finding the SAFM breakfast show is attracting just 8.7 per cent of total listeners, placing the station in second-to-last position.

Triple M once again is the breakfast leader, commanding 14.3 per cent of total breakfast listeners, though this is down 0.9 per cent on the prior survey.

It means the trio of Roo, Ditts and Loz have been ranked first for 28 out of the last 29 surveys.

Triple M is also still the top station overall, boasting 14 per cent of all listenership across all shows.

ABC’s breakfast show hosted by Sonya Feldhoff and Jules Schiller came in at fourth position. The duo was the biggest listener gainer in the period, rising 1.2 per cent.

The new KIIS stars Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton also regained some ground this survey after the prior ratings saw the duo lose 1.5 percentage points of listenership.

This latest survey period saw KIIS’ breakfast show rise 0.3 per cent, but they remain in fifth position overall – just above SAFM.

Nova’s breakfast hosts Jodie Oddy and Andrew Hayes leapfrogged FIVEAA, coming in at second position for the timeslot and gaining 0.8 percentage points of listenership.

Triple M’s breakfast lead extends throughout the day, according to the survey, until the evening slot when FIVEAA’s Matthew Pantelis grabs the top spot.
