The Independent MP for MacKillop will appear in court today following reports he was arrested and charged over the weekend.

Member for Mackillop Nick McBride is expected to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court after reports he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
SA Police responded to reports of a domestic assault at a home in Conmurra in the South East at about 10:30am Saturday.
A police spokesperson said a 56-year-old Robe man was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault, breach of bail and breaching terms of an intervention order.
He was refused police bail and would appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court today, the spokesperson said.
The SAPOL spokesperson said an 82-year-old man from Kingston South East was also interviewed over the incident and reported for aggravated assault.
The 82-year-old would be summoned to court at a later date.
McBride was elected to the seat of MacKillop as a member of the Liberal Party in 2018 but left the party to become an independent in 2023.
McBride has previously said he intended to recontest the state election in March 2026.
In the upcoming election, the Liberals intend to run Robe local Rebekah Rosser in the seat of Mackillop.
Rosser is understood to have beaten long-serving liberal executive leader Lachlan Haynes for preselection to the seat.
Haynes quit the party last week after what was believed to be a lack of support for his bid for Mackillop.
