A school bus has rolled, closing a highway and seriously injuring several people as emergency services respond to the situation.
Several people have been seriously injured – with reports one has died – after a school bus rolled in Victoria, closing a highway.
Emergency services responded about 8.20am on Wednesday to the crash near Stonehaven, west of Geelong.
Ambulance Victoria said paramedics are on scene and prioritising their patients.
“It’s understood several people have been seriously injured,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
Local media have reported a female student on the bus has died, but this is yet to be confirmed by authorities.
Victoria’s Transport department reported the Hamilton Highway closed in both directions between Burnside Road and Friend-In-Hand Road “due to a serious collision”.
“The closure is under the control of Victoria Police.”
