Woman charged after child found dead at home
A 32-year-old woman has been charged with murder following the death of a child in a quiet coastal Queensland community.
The three-year-old child’s body was found in a home at Moore Park Beach, north of Bundaberg, on Monday afternoon.
Police and emergency services were called to the residence on Regency Road at about 4.45pm.
A little girl was found unresponsive and declared deceased at the scene.
A crime scene was declared and investigations into the circumstances continue.

The child and the woman are known to each other. However, police have provided no further details about the relationship.
The woman is expected to appear in the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Queensland Police Chief Inspector Grant Marcus said two other children in the house at the time were “safe and well”.
“That’s probably the only positive I can say out of all of this,” he said.

“There is a lady who lives at the house who is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
“Our detectives are going through the process of investigating what’s going on.
“We’re talking to neighbours, we’re going through the scene to determine what evidence we can identify and to try and make some sense of this horrendous tragedy.
“There’s a lot of people the detectives need to speak to, to gain an understanding of what’s happened.”
Marcus said police received several triple-zero calls.
“I’m not exactly sure at this stage who rang the police. But certainly there were multiple calls coming in relation to what’s happened, and police have rushed out and unfortunately, have located this child deceased at the residence,” he said on Monday night.
“We’re trying now to process this whole scene to determine what on earth has happened here this evening.
“This is a really tragic evening.”
Marcus said the investigation was still in its early stages. Police intended to doorknock local houses to see if neighbours had any useful information.
Investigators set up a crime scene and said there was no ongoing threat to the community.
