The state government has announced two key appointments to work on the Northern Park Lands open space project.

Kate Anderson will lead the Northern Park Lands Trust as its new chief executive and will be responsible for the 1000-hectare nature and recreation development connecting Gawler River to the Hills Face.
Anderson is an experienced leader and has served as chief executive of the West Beach Trust and its board where she managed public land and community engagement.
Prior to that, she was CEO of Tower Estate in Hunter Valley and was commercial businesses manager for Adelaide Shores.
Former Senator Annette Hurley has been appointed as the inaugural presiding member.

Hurley is an experienced board member, having served as treasurer and board member for the Northern Adelaide Community and Youth Services for more than 20 years, and a director on the board of TAFE South Australia.
She was formerly the Labor Member for Napier from 1993 to 2001 and was a Senator representing SA in the Australian Senate from 2005 to 2011.
“The Northern Park Lands is one of the most significant investments in public open space this state has ever seen. Kate Anderson and Annette Hurley bring exactly the kind of leadership, experience and passion this project deserves,” Housing and Urban Development Minister Nick Champion said.
SA’s largest retirement living and home care provider ECH has appointed Jonathon Grant as its new chief financial officer.

Grant has more than 20 years’ experience in senior finance and governance roles across the disability, community services and not-for-profit sectors.
He previously held the role of chief financial officer at disability service providers SACARE and Novita Services where he supported social impact and financial stability.
Grant has also held a range of senior finance roles in banking, financial services and retail sectors with a track record of increasing revenue growth and strengthening governance.
“His experience guiding organisations through growth, reform and increasing regulatory complexity will be a significant asset for ECH as we continue to respond to change across the sector,” ECH chief executive Alan Morrison said.
Head of cyber security and IT resilience at SA Power Networks Nathan Morelli has been appointed to a national board to assist Australian organisations to prepare for cyber-attacks.

Morelli is one of seven cyber security experts from around Australia to join the Cyber Incident Review Board which was set up by Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke.
In the role, Morelli will use his more than 15 years’ experience in the field to examine major cyber security events, develop findings, and provide recommendations to improve national cyber resilience.
He has led and delivered cyber security projects and initiatives across defence, consulting, private, and public sectors including Naval Group Australia and the Australian Cyber Security Centre.
“I’m looking forward to contributing to a process that helps capture lessons from major cyber events and share those insights in a way that supports both government and industry,” Morelli said.
Clare Valley winemaker Jim Barry Wines has announced the appointment of Topsi Wallace to the position of senior winemaker.

Wallace will hold the highest winemaking position at the company and will be responsible for overseeing production, upholding standards, and mentoring the winemaking team.
She has worked at Jim Barry for more than six years in multiple winemaking aspects to provide technical and leadership skills to the process.
Wallace has completed 11 Australian vintages along with experience with vintages in Canada, France and her native country of New Zealand.
“Her work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to lead with confidence and clarity have been evident for years. This appointment is a natural progression based on merit, experience, and results,” director of winemaking Tom Barry said.

Adelaide-based engineering and advisory company Aurecon has made four senior leadership appointments.

Peter Burrows has been appointed to the role of technical director of buildings mechanical.
Burrows is a chartered mechanical engineer with more than 20 years’ experience nationally and internationally working on large-scale building projects.
In the new role, Burrows will be responsible for maximising asset performance for the new $3.2 billion Women’s and Children’s Hospital and continuing work on the Flinders Medical Centre.
He has previously served as building services practice lead at Mott MacDonald and associate director for BCA Engineers.

Carla Lepore has been appointed to role of technical director of delivery management.
Lepore has more than 20 years’ experience as a specialist in commercial management for large-scale design.
She has previously served in senior management roles for companies including McMahon Services, KBR and APP Corporation.
John Duffy will return to Aurecon following his appointment as technical director of buildings.

Duffy has more than 20 years’ experience in building services engineering, leading teams across aviation, health, education, and commercial sectors.
In the new role, he will be responsible for supporting the delivery of complex building projects by providing senior technical and delivery leadership.
Derek Broome has been appointed as director of precincts, aviation and stadia.
Broome has more than 30 years’ experience delivering major precincts, stadia, and aviation infrastructure across Australia and internationally.

He is recognised for leading national and international projects, including the $535 million Adelaide Oval redevelopment, and will provide leadership to guide master planning strategies at Aurecon.
“By making these strategic additions to lift our capability for clients locally and nationally, we’ve strengthened our leadership capacity across South Australia and Victoria,” Aurecon Adelaide buildings leader Corey McDonald said.
Adelaide-headquartered tourism group Journey Beyond has reshaped its senior leadership as it looks to expand in 2026.

Matt Cameron-Smith joins Journey Beyond as the new chief commercial officer where he will oversee the commercial and revenue strategy across the entire Journey Beyond portfolio.
Cameron-Smith is an experienced leader in the tourism industry and is the current CEO of Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia, a role he has held since 2020.
He has held many senior roles within the tourism sector, including as managing director of Trafalgar Guided Holidays, CEO of AAT Kings and Inspiring Journeys and is the currently chairperson of Ultimate Winery Experiences Australia.
David Donald has been promoted to managing director of rail and touring after leading the rail business for the past six years.

In the new role, Donald will oversee an expanded division that brings together Journey Beyond’s rail journeys and market-leading touring brands.
He is an experienced leader in the tourism and hotel industry, having been the general manager of Park Royal Parramatta, Pan Pacific Hotels Group and Stamford Plaza Adelaide.
Adelaide Festival Centre Foundation has welcomed Jim Hazel as its new board chair.
Hazel has more than 30 years’ experience as a company director and financial leader across banking, investment, governance and the arts.

He currently serves as the deputy chancellor for Adelaide University and serves on the board for several companies including COTA Australia and Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network.
Hazel has a long-standing connection with Adelaide Festival Centre as the inaugural chair of the foundation’s finance, investment and risk committee, and previously as deputy chair and chair of Adelaide Festival Centre Trust.
“I look forward to working with our donors and supporters to continue growing the foundation’s impact,” Hazel said.
Enerven has appointed Alyssa Van Every as general manager of people and culture after acting in the role since February.

Van Every is an experienced human resources manager, with extensive background working in the consumer goods industry.
She previously worked in senior positions at SA Power Networks including as head of people partnering and experience and acting head of human resources.
Van Every brings more than 11 years’ experience as human resources manager for Mitsubishi Motors Australia and state HR operations manager for DuluxGroup.
“Alyssa has already made a strong impact during her time supporting the business, building trusted relationships and bringing clear focus to our People and Culture priorities,” Enerven CEO Richard Amato said.
