Being an entrepreneur is like “jumping out of a plane and building a parachute”, the founder of ROOM, Tiffany Murray, says. BDO’s Fast Movers program grounded her and gave her business the credibility she needed to keep it growing.

For two years running, Adelaide-based bespoke interior design and fit-outs business ROOM landed in the top five of BDO’s Fast Movers SA program.
The initiative seeks to recognise the state’s top 25 fastest-growing, most innovative and smartest small-to-medium enterprises.
The back-to-back wins were a boon for ROOM founder Tiffany Murray, who is a self-described “tragic entrepreneur”.
She started ROOM in February 2020, but things really kicked off for the business in 2022 when Discovery Parks founder Grant Wilkins penned a preferred supplier agreement with the SA company.
From there, the company kept scaling with major fit-out and interiors partnerships with the likes of Tasman Group, NRMA Resorts and Hampshire Group.
ROOM has since moved into the purpose-built student accommodation market – a booming industry – and partners with Campus Living Villages and Scape.
Last year, ROOM ranked fourth in the coveted list, up one position on 2024.
“You often don’t go from five one year and to four another year,” Murray said.
“People don’t usually sustain that level of growth.”
She said the BDO Fast Movers program had been “great” for ROOM because “it’s definitely created a level of trust”.
“Particularly when you are an unknown brand, it’s important to be aligned with a well-known brand and a reputable program,” she said.
“I think that alignment definitely gives us more credibility, which, when you’re a startup, you can’t get enough of.”
It also connected her to a community of entrepreneurs which she said was important because “it’s quite lonely being an entrepreneur”.
“You don’t have a playbook like everybody else. It’s not that structured. You jump out of a plane and build a parachute and never land.
“It’s great being amongst people like that, who thrive off that energy. People who are leaders, not followers.”
Nominations for the 2026 BDO Fast Movers program close on March 22, with the list set to be unveiled in May.
Murray said it was a fast process to enter.
“If you think you’re too busy to do it, you’re not,” she said.
“It’s exhilarating. You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
“There’s no downside to joining.”
Daniella Biagi, Partner, BDO said “BDO Fast Movers isn’t just about growth numbers – it’s about recognising businesses that are building something meaningful. If you’re scaling fast and backing your ambition, this program gives you visibility, credibility and a network that can genuinely accelerate what comes next.”
If your business is growing, innovating and ready to be recognised, now is the time to put your name forward.
Nominations close 22 March, with the 2026 BDO Fast Movers list announced in May.
