South Australian tourism businesses secured three gold, five silver and three bronze awards at the 2025 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, SA’s Tourism Minister labelling the wins as a “fantastic result”.

The Veenstra family, which has operated tourism businesses on the Fleurieu Peninsula for more than 50 years, won a gold award for its Spirit of the Coorong business.

While sister business The Big Duck Boat Tours took home gold in the Ecotourism category, recognising a commitment to experiences that connect visitors with the natural environment.

Woodhouse Adventure Park also won gold in the Unique Accommodation category and silver in the Adventure Tourism category.

And as the Fringe enjoys a sunny weekend, the festival picked up a silver award in both the Major Festivals & Events category and the Excellence in Accessible Tourism category.

Other winners of silver awards were Old Coach Road Estate (Self-Contained Accommodation) and Monarto Safari Resort (New Tourism Business).

Streaky Sounds Music Festival received a bronze medal, while other bronze winners included Monkey Nut Café and Seppeltsfield Barossa.
