In this week’s Briefcase, a new program from Women in Creative Technologies and Maggie Beer sells its dairy business. Plus, the latest business events.
Women in Creative Technologies (WiCT) last week launched a new membership and events program called Power Her Up.
Designed to celebrate and empower women working at the intersection of creativity and technology, Power Her Up will run a series of workshops, panel talks, networking events and virtual events.
The initiative aims to address the underrepresentation of women in the technology and innovation workforce.
WiCT Founder Onnie Chan said she was excited to launch Power Her Up.
“It’s a great platform where women will be able to turn their bold ideas into impactful tech ventures, and our statewide program will offer both face-to-face events and online experiences to innovatively make it accessible to regional people,” Chan said.

SA-based metal 3D printing company AML3D has opened a new manufacturing facility in Ohio, which it said represented a “significant milestone in strengthening America’s defense manufacturing capabilities and supporting the trilateral AUKUS partnership between the United States, United Kingdom and Australia”.
The facility supports the US Navy’s Virginia-class submarine program and the broader AUKUS partnership by producing large-scale metal components.
“This facility represents more than just an expansion of our operations – it’s a strategic investment in America’s defense industrial base,” AML3D USA President and CEO Pete Goumas said.
Maggie Beer Holdings has successfully divested dairy business Paris Creek Farms to Victoria-based food manufacturer and distributor Katoomba Global Foods for $500,000.

Listed video game developer Mighty Kingdom has changed its name and raised $2.3 million to bolster its cash reserves.
The company now goes by Fortifai Limited, with a new ticker ‘FTI’.
No reason was given for the company’s name change but the developer has been making moves into the artificial intelligence space over the past year.
Further, Fortifai raised $2.3 million to “further strengthen the company’s cash position” from existing and new investors.
“Proceeds from the additional placement will be used for general working capital to support ongoing operations and product development and payment of creditors and liabilities,” Fortifai said.
“Additional resources will be used to pursue growth objectives of the business, including expansion of existing capabilities of the company’s AI Gaming Lab as well as the development of technology partnerships and other innovative programs.”
