Jake Kellie is taking his culinary journey in a new direction, but will continue to oversee his Norwood establishment Arkhé.
Kellie is now the culinary director at Kingsford The Barossa’s and its restaurant, Orleana.
His role will be to reshape the restaurant’s offering and oversee the full dining experience across the entire Kingsford The Barossa.
Having begun his role at the Barossa homestead, Kellie says he will reveal a new restaurant concept in the coming months.
Kellie says he wants to “create food that feels honest and generous and build a culture that supports that at every level”.
“For me, Orleana is a chance to bring something fresh and grounded to the Barossa, a restaurant that’s shaped by the seasons, the producers we work with, and the amazing team behind it,” he says.
“There’s so much potential here, and I’m keen to bring it to life.”
Kellie will continue to oversee his Norwood restaurant Arkhé as executive chef and co-owner. Opened in 2021, Arkhé was listed as CityMag’s fourth most powerful restaurant in Adelaide last year.
Before that, Kellie worked at The Fat Duck – Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant – and The Ledbury in the United Kingdom, Sydney’s Aria Restaurant, Michelin-starred Burnt Ends in Singapore, which inspired Arkhé, and other notable establishments.
Kellie is also an InDaily 40 Under 40 alumnus.
“We’ve been watching Jake for a while,” says Andrea Richards of Salter Brothers Hospitality, which manages Kingsford The Barossa.
“His approach to food is fearless, refined, and grounded in deep respect for produce and technique. He pushes boundaries without losing sight of authenticity, which is exactly why he resonates so strongly with today’s guests.”
Kingsford The Barossa is located at 68 Kingsford Road, Kingsford.
