Firstival is back for 2025, with a month-long line-up packed with hundreds of events just for beginners. Spot your first constellation, sketch your first scene, or sip your first sake — there’s plenty on the program for all ages and life stages.

Looking for ways to keep the kids occupied over the school holidays? Everything on offer is free or low cost, hosted by local makers and educators in South Australia’s public libraries.

But learning’s not just for when we’re little; it’s for life. And Firstival is a fun way for everyone to find new hobbies and meet likeminded humans. Don’t forget to sign up for your free library card to access all kinds of free stuff at more than 130 libraries all year round.
