This home on the Esplanade at Seacliff that champions entertaining and coastal living is on the market for $3,500,000.

Boats bob along the horizon, the calming ebb and flow of the surface broken by the occasional dolphin.
This is the uninterrupted view that now-retired couple Vicki and Jeff moved to Seacliff for.
“It was always the dream to live on the Esplanade, and then we saw this we just loved it straight away,” Vicki says.
“We loved the expansive views from both levels, looking out to the ocean.”

Vicki and Jeff were already living coastally at Somerton Park, but when this property on one of Adelaide’s most tightly-held coastal stretches hit the market, they jumped at the chance.
Since moving in almost 12 years ago, the couple have extensively renovated the home, making it into the ultimate entertainer.
“I knew straight away what I wanted to change to make it our own,” Vicki says.
“But we knew there was no hurry.”
Over the last decade Vick and Jeff have gradually upgraded their home to accommodate all of the events they host.
“We hold Australia Day here for 50-odd people every year.”
“We’re renowned for that.
“We always have Christmas Day here with our daughters and their partners and our three little grandchildren.
“Christmas Day, Australia Day, Easter – we’re always entertaining.”

The first thing they did was renovate the kitchen and remove a wall that closed it off to the living room and the views.
“As soon as we walked through the home, I said to my husband, ‘we’re going to have to open the kitchen’.”
“We do a lot of entertaining indoors and out, so it was important to have a big kitchen with an expansive bench.”
With the exception of the pool that was already there, Vicki says they have completely transformed the outdoor area, creating an alfresco that flows seamlessly from the kitchen and living.
“We changed the design of thewhole backyard because it was taken up by a very big, old shed.”
“The pool was here, but the tiling was very old, so we knocked everything down and retiled.
“We’ve made it into an entertaining area which can be enclosed with a blind in the colder weather.”

Vicki also had polished concrete floors installed to give it a coastal feel, and with the completion of the newly renovated bathrooms two years ago, she says the home finally feels complete.
Even with all of these features, the best thing about this home – and Vicki’s favourite thing – is, by a landslide, the expansive views.
“You can see dolphins, and watch the boats pass by, it’s just beautiful.”
“The winter sunsets can be just as lovely as summer.
“It’s a lifestyle that no one can appreciate until they’ve done it, I don’t think.
“We’re just truly blessed.”

Vicki and Jeff are now downsizing, and although nothing beats this position on the Esplanade, they are staying coastal and have made sure they still have a view.
“Now that we’ve experienced these views here, we can’t move somewhere where we don’t have that.”
The sale of 215A Esplanade, Seacliff, is being handled by Brett Pilgrim and Prue Delaney of Pilgrim Real Estate.
