Thebarton Senior College is a specialist senior secondary school, offering quality education in SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education) and vocational training courses.

The college offers a wide range of SACE subjects to help students achieve their educational and career goals in a flexible and supportive learning environment. The college has part-time as well as full-time study options, and students studying Year 12 subjects can attend day or twilight classes, giving them flexibility with their choices.

Students enrolled in twilight classes can also combine subjects at their local schools with the specialist subjects available at Thebarton Senior College. This benefits students if a desired subject is not offered at their school, or it clashes with another subject choice.

The college is also a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Code 40117), offering vocational certificates in a range of industry areas, including community services, construction, information technology and screen and media.

The college also partners with other RTOs to deliver accredited courses in automotive, early childhood education and care, electrotechnology, engineering, hair and beauty, individual support and plumbing.

The college offers a range of Gateways 2 VET courses to provide valuable preparation for Year 10 students contemplating future VET studies, and students undertaking school-based traineeships and apprenticeships are supported with flexible timetable options and mentoring through the college’s School-based Apprentice or Trainee (SBAT) program.

Programs unique to the college – such as the Pathway to Policing Program and Special Interest Academy – also allow students to follow their career pathway and interests while completing their SACE and/or VET qualifications.

The college is a unique and supportive place to study. “I chose to come to Thebarton Senior College because I wanted a fresh start and a supportive environment where I could focus on my studies and achieve my goals,” Year 11 student Fatima says. “I also like the flexible learning options and the opportunity to meet new people while preparing for my future.”

Year 11 student Zahra says she is really happy with her choice to come to the college. “What I like most is how helpful and patient the teachers are whenever I need extra support,” she says. “I also really enjoy learning in a relaxed atmosphere where everyone respects each other.”

The college is now taking enrolment applications for 2027.
