New SA Health chief revealed
The new leader of SA Health has been revealed after a months-long search for the top job.
Experienced healthcare leader Robyn Lindsay has been appointed as the new chief executive of SA Health after serving as the government department’s deputy chief for more than a year.
A state government statement said that Lindsay is one of the state’s top healthcare executives with experience in delivering large-scale reform to health services including the delivery of 24/7 pharmacies, improving access to elective surgeries and leading ADHD diagnosis reforms.
Prior to joining SA Health, Lindsay was the CEO of Echuca Regional Health and served as executive director of clinical operations at Bendigo Health in Victoria.
In her new role, she will be responsible for improving patient flow, reducing pressure on the health system and delivering better care for South Australians, the statement said.

Lindsay acknowledged there would be difficulties in the new role.
“As a health system, there are lots of things we do extremely well and are rightly proud of. However, there are also still many challenges to tackle and improvements we can make,” Lindsay said.
“As part of my new role I will be looking to further strengthen the partnerships between metropolitan and regional health services, enabling South Australians to get care closer to home, and making the system easier to navigate.”
She will succeed former SA Health chief Dr Robyn Lawrence, who announced her retirement in April after four years in the role.
