How an SA company is bringing aged care into the modern era
With the aged care sector under increasing pressure, the co-founders of an SA business are helping businesses slice away long hours on admin.
Dilsee Dutta and Aarav Kumar co-founded Keen Care in 2023 with the aim of freeing care providers from tedious admin tasks so they can focus on delivering quality care.
Their system designed for NDIS and aged care providers to manage client funding, rostering, invoicing and compliance in a single integrated system now has 16,000 users. And there are plans to eventually take the software global.
Dutta said small to mid-sized providers are under “real pressure” at the moment with a need to be compliance-ready and investing in the right products.
“It can be tricky at times because most of the products out there are traditional and not evolving with the NDIS scheme, and it’s an ever-evolving industry that we are in at the moment,” she said.
“So, Keen Care helps them to evolve with the NDIS scheme and stay compliant-ready at all times without feeling that extra pressure – we try to take away that pressure from them by giving them the right tools.”

Kumar is responsible for sales and business development at the Adelaide-based business, as well as product development, while Dutta looks after the finance side.
Dutta, who won the Emerging Industries Award, presented by Piper Alderman, at InDaily’s 2026 40 Under 40 awards, said the business was about giving back time to care providers.
“We saw a problem, which we wanted to solve through technology, so that’s where Keen Care came into the picture,” Dutta said.
“It started from a small project, and then we ended up building the whole suite – it’s an end-to-end operations platform for NDIS, aged care and allied health providers.”

Dutta said Keen Care means care providers can focus on delivering quality care to clients without worrying about compliance and rostering.
“We are taking the load away from them, so they don’t have to focus on the admin-related work,” she said.
“The sector doesn’t stand still at all – regulation keeps on moving, funding rules keep on shifting; so, what we want to achieve here is to give ease to the providers, and we want to build a national-level organisation and then take it to a global level as well,” Dutta said.
Kumar adds that “the sector is under real pressure … [with] workforce shortages, tightening price caps, the incoming aged care act reforms that recently got introduced, the ongoing NDIS review, that are all landing at once”.
Kumar, who was a 40 Under 40 finalist in 2025, added that they founded Keen Care after identifying a digitisation gap in the care industry.
“After studying and learning that there are many gaps out there in the market, then I thought, ‘Let’s set up something which can solve the problems of the industry’,” Kumar said.
“The goal is a single platform where a provider can run their whole operation without stitching six tools together.”
He said in addition to rostering, Keen Care includes functions for AI-assisted multilingual progress notes, NDIS claims, incident and compliance workflow and payroll automation.
