Multimillion-dollar luxury hypercars in Adelaide racing grid first
A brand-new racing event featuring the world’s fastest and most expensive cars has been revealed for this year’s Adelaide Grand Final race. One roadster that can fetch prices upward of $4 million was unveiled last night. See the video.
South Australians can expect to see some of the world’s fastest and most expensive hypercars racing on city streets for the first-time ever at this year’s bp Adelaide Grand Final.
The GT1 Race Club was announced by bp Adelaide Grand Final event director Shaun Bennetts on Wednesday night at the event launch party, with fans now set to see the cars in action during November. Hollywood actor and rev head Eric Bana was also named the face promoting the race in a first-look at event campaigning.
A Pagani Huayra R Evo Roadster – which can fetch prices upward of $4 million and hit speeds more than 350 km/h – revved its engine in front of the crowd as part of the grand reveal.
“The GT1 Race Club will bring together an exceptional collection of track-focused hypercars from leading manufacturers,” Bennetts said.
“The on-track excitement of the GT1 Race Club presented by GG Classic Cars will be a unique opportunity for spectators.”

The new race category will be the first of its kind in Australia and will provide spectators the opportunity to see rarely-seen hypercars pitted against each other in races on city streets.
Ultra-rare hypercars from international manufacturers including Pagani, Bugatti and Ferrari will be on display, with InDaily understanding up to 12 hypercars will be raced on the street circuit.
Hypercars from these luxury brands can fetch prices from anywhere between $5 million to more than $10 million, with the cars specifically designed to hit extreme speeds.

Further details on the format and participating vehicles in the GT1 Race Club is set to be announced closer to the bp Adelaide Grand Final start date.
Star Hollywood actor Eric Bana, best known for his portrayals of The Incredible Hulk and Chopper Read along with appearing in cult classic The Castle, was also announced as the face of this year’s Adelaide Grand Final promotional campaign.
Bana is a well-known car racing enthusiast who owns a 1974 Ford XB Falcon Hardtop that was also the topic of his 2009 directed documentary ‘Love the Beast’. He has also previously competed in the Bathurst 12 Hour, Porsche Sprint Challenge and tarmac rallies.
“It’s exciting to have Eric Bana onboard to showcase why our bp Adelaide Grand Final event is a must-attend spectacle,” Bennetts said.
The launch night also featured on stage appearances from last year’s Adelaide Grand Final champion Chaz Mostert and fellow top four finishers Broc Feeney, Will Brown and Kai Allen.
This year’s Adelaide Grand Final will feature Grammy Hall of Famer Guns N’ Roses as the headliner for Sunday night’s concert while Adelaide’s own Hilltop Hoods performing on the Saturday night.
The 2025 bp Adelaide Grand Final drew 285,700 motorsport and music fans, including more than 102,000 attendees for the Sunday show, headlined by AC/DC.
